Louis van Gaal makes £80,000-a-week Dutch star his top target at Man Utd
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Louis van Gaal has made AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong his top target for the summer window.
Van Gaal is understood to be a big admirer of the 30-year-old De Jong, having reportedly attempted to sign him last summer.
The combative midfielder worked under the Dutch tactician as the Netherlands reached the semi-finals of the World Cup, starting in every match.

De Jong's contract is set to expire at the end the season, with Milan keen to tie him down to a new deal.
However, according to reports in Italy, Van Gaal is preparing an £80,000-a-week deal to lure him to Old Trafford.
The former Manchester City star spoke earlier in the month of the recent speculation, admitting he was unsure of his future.
“That’s something for the journalists,” De Jong said. We’ll see about next year.
"I’ve spoken with the directors, and so has my manager. Let’s see how it goes. Will I stay? I don’t know, let’s see.”
