Radamel Falcao snubbed Juventus after Man Utd offered him 'indispensable' role last summer

RADAMEL FALCAO turned down the opportunity to join Juventus last summer after Manchester United promised that he would be an 'indispensable' member of their squad.

That is according to respected FIFA agent Giovanni Branchini, who claims that the Serie A giants almost landed the striker before he joined the Red Devils.

Falcao has struggled to find his best form at Old Trafford this season, and reports claim that he will return to Monaco once his loan spell comes to an end.

Much was expected of the Colombia international after establishing himself as one of the most fearsome forwards in the game, and Branchini claims that Louis van Gaal told Falcao that he would be a key player for United in order to beat Juventus to his signature.

Speaking to Gazzetta TV, Branchini explained: "There was a real opportunity for the leaders of Juventus [to sign Falcao].

"But then a proposal to make him an indispensable part of Manchester United's team came, and given the high cost he could not arrive at Juventus."
