Arsenal Transfer News: Marco Reus IN Theo Walcott OUT, Adriano BOOST, Bacca SNUB
EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest from the Emirates.
Marco Reus Player Profile
Arsenal are weighing up a summer move for Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus.
The Daily Telegraph claim that Arsene Wenger is viewing the attacker as a replacement for Theo Walcott.
And Reus may be lured by the promise of Champions League football, given Dortmund's disastrous start to the Bundesliga season.
Marco Reus is currently being scouted by Arsene Wenger's team
Wenger is also said to be keen on strengthening his defensive options and has moved for Manchester United's Chris Smalling.
The Manchester Evening News claim a £12million bid has already been rejected by the Red Devils.
However, Smalling may look for pastures new given the rumours surrounding Louis van Gaal's big summer spending spree, including centre-back Mats Hummels.
Arsenal - Most Expensive Transfers
The Gunners have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Luiz Adriano.
The Champions League top scorer is also a target for Liverpool, however, he has confirmed his long-term future will not be in Ukraine.
He said: "With my contract set to expire and many good performances, it’ll be difficult to stay in Ukraine."
But any hopes of signing Valencia striker Carlos Bacca have been thrown out the window.
Arsenal were said to be plotting a £22m bid to activate the 28-year-old's buy-out clause in January.
However, he's confirmed his future is with the La Liga outfit, saying:"I’m happy at Sevilla and so is my family. I have a contract for four years."
