The duo were expected to take part in the All Star charity match.
A statement on the Liverpool site read: "Both players were substituted during Fenerbahce's 1-0 victory over Besiktas on Sunday, after picking up knocks in the Turkish Super Lig clash.
"It means the former Reds duo have been ruled out of taking their place in Jamie Carragher's All-Star squad for the game, but both Kuyt and Meireles were determined to show their support."
The club confirmed the duo will still be at the stadium in support.
Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso are all starting in teams captained by Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.
