According to reports in German magazine Kicker, the holding midfielder is planning a Bernabeu summer exit.

He said: "It’s not a decision against Real Madrid. I want to find new challenges for my career and continue to grow as a player.

"For me, it was a magnificent moment in my life in a magnificent team. I will do everything I can to continue helping the team during the forthcoming weeks."

Wojciech Szczesny may leave having being demoted to Arsenal's second choice goalkeeper

Wojciech Szczesny has been told to leave Arsenal by former Polish international goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek.

The Gunners' shot-stopper has fallen out of favour with Arsene Wenger following a smoking scandal in January.

And Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina has stepped in to the fill the breach, with Szczesny being demoted to FA Cup duty.

Dudek said: "If I were in his place, I would wonder whether there are still opportunities to arise at Arsenal and wouldn’t wait as long as Fabianski, because you can see that Arsene Wenger is firmly set on David Ospina."

Morgan Schneiderlin

Morgan Schneiderlin has pricked the ears of the Premier League's top clubs by suggesting he'll leave if Southampton don't make the top four.

The French international has been strongly linked with a switch to the Emirates and he admits he's keen to play at the highest level.

He told French newspaper L'Equipe: "In August, I wanted to take a move but the club had lost too many players to agree to sell me.

"Since then I have had discussions with the leaders and I want to play at the highest level: it is important at 25 years old to finally know the Champions League.

"Given that, late in the season, Southampton may qualify for the Champions League and I can stay, who knows.

Shaktar Donetsk forward Luiz Adriano has offered Arsenal encouragement by suggesting he may not stay in Ukraine.

The Brazilian, whose deal runs until December 2015, admits he will honour the current contract but then will seek pastures new.

He said: "I am in a good moment of my career and we'll do what will be best for me and for the club.

"With my contract set to expire and many good performances, it'll be difficult to stay in Ukraine."
