The £12m-rated Bosnia goalkeeper’s existing contract will have just a year to run come the summer.

But the Potters are desperate to prevent his contract running down amid interest from Inter Milan and Tottenham and plan to offer him a fresh deal by the end of the month.

And now Begovic has revealed he has set his sights on 100 clean sheets for Stoke after reaching 50 last month in the 2-0 win over Everton.

Begovic said: “Getting to 50 clean sheets is a good figure to have. It is a good personal achievement for me and shows how long I have been here.

“I have been lucky enough to play with a lot of good guys who throw their bodies on the line every week to help keep those clean sheets. It’s been a team effort and hopefully I can go on and claim 50 more clean sheets here.

“We all want to be successful players and we all want to challenge for and win titles and trophies. We are moving in a good direction and I am happy to be part of that.

“Achieving what we have done has been great but we want to achieve more than that and keep setting ourselves bigger targets.”
