Chelsea hero picks Fantasy XI and includes Manchester United and Liverpool favourites

FORMER Chelsea star Jody Morris has selected his Fantasy XI, opting to include ex-Liverpool man Michael Owen and former Manchester United and Leeds defender Rio Ferdinand.

Jose Mourinho pretty confident Chelsea will win the Premier League title

Morris made 173 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit after coming through the youth ranks before joining Leeds in 2003.

The Englishman is now Under-18s assistant manager at Chelsea, and speaking to the club's official website, Morris revealed the best footballers he played with or against during a long career.

Selecting a 3-4-3 formation, Morris explained his line-up.

Carlo Cudicini: "In goal I'm going with Cudicini, who I thought was the best goalie in the Premier League when I left Chelsea. He was by far the best shot stopper I'd ever seen, and strangely not crazy, for a goalkeeper."

Marcel Desailly: "You don't need to say too much about him, he speaks for himself. I've got him at the back, he obviously had years at Milan dominating in midfield. Maybe at Chelsea they weren't his greatest years but you could still see in the top games he just went into fifth gear."

Rio Ferdinand: "We played together in England youth teams and knew each other as kids. He was a gifted footballer then he got sent to the back! He could bring the ball out and was every so cultured. He changed his game a bit at Man United as well."

John Terry: "One of the greatest centre-halves to play in the Premier League and one of Chelsea's greatest every players. One of the things that's overlooked is how good he is on the ball. Yes he's brave, yes he puts his head in where it hurts and he's a leader, but as far as passing goes, he could play in midfield. You see him in training and he's still performing at the highest level."

Former Chelsea man Jody Morris has selected his Fantasy XI

Glenn Hoddle: "I was only privileged to play a couple of reserve games with him as a 16-year-old, but every day in training some of the things I'd see him do, I was gutted I wasn't around him when he was younger. For me, a two-footed genius."

Ruud Gullit: "He was towards the end of his career but he never gave the ball away in training. Ever. He was unbelievable, and another one where you wondered how good he must have been 10 years earlier. He was class."

Frank Lampard: "I honestly think he is the greatest goalscoring midfielder of all time. He's done that without shirking his defensive responsibilities and tactically he's excellent. He always worked on his game and knew what his body needed. He's just a class act."

Gianfranco Zola: "He was so gifted. He used to watch Maradona and study his technique. The younger lads at Chelsea watched him. He had a different technique for how far out the ball was. He was a genius."

Mark Hughes: "He was a midfielder's dream. He could smash a defender out of the way, control it and then wait for the midfielders to catch up. In training he was awful, but he was one of the best I've seen with his back to goal."

Michael Owen: "I played with him in the youth World Cup. Amazing finisher, and his pace murdered defenders. Sometimes you wouldn't see him and his link play wasn't the greatest, but if he got a chance he would stick it away."

Gianluca Vialli: "Never the quickest but the cleverest, with the best movement I've seen."
