Matt Beard's side host new-comers Sunderland on Wednesday night as they look to kick-start their season with a victory.

And while the Reds have achieved back-to-back FA WSL titles, knocking Arsenal off their thrown, Williams is eager to go for a third.

“Going for the title has got to be our target again this season,” the Liverpool and England midfielder told Sky Sports.

“We need to find a way of winning it again. We found a way in the second year and we must find a way to win it again, that has got to be our ambition this year.

“But I think it will be close again and you can see the changes that every club has made.

“Notts County have made some massive changes and brought players in, Man City have added to their squad and Arsenal have also added loads of new faces.”
