REVEALED: The Man United hero Harry Kane resembles according to Arsenal legend Paul Merson

PAUL MERSON has compared Tottenham and England star Harry Kane to Teddy Sherringham.

Harry Kane Player Profile

Merson has looked beyond the north London divide when handing out his praise.

Kane has hit 29 goals so far this season, despite not being a Premier League regular until November.

And the former Arsenal striker reckons Kane has a big future ahead of him.

"He reminds me of Teddy Sheringham," Merson wrote in his Sky Sports pundit blog.

"He drops off, comes looking for the ball. He has an unbelievable future in the game."

And former Spurs striker Paul Walsh has backed him as player of the year.

"He has been magnificent," Walsh said.

"At the start of the season - I’m quite happy to hold my hands up here - I wasn’t sure he was going to be the answer to Tottenham’s prayers.

"I’d seen him on loan - he did ok but he hadn’t pulled up any trees.

"I didn’t see him having an impact but every credit to the player.

"He has shown great appetite for the game. He has nice feet, runs well with the ball and he scores all sorts of goals.”
