Chelsea midfielder's Stamford Bridge future set to be decided

CHELSEA are considering extending Marco van Ginkel's loan with AC Milan for another season, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho pretty confident Chelsea will win the Premier League title

The Dutch midfielder linked up with the Serie A giants at the start of the season, and, despite suffering a number of injuries in the early stages of his temporary stint, Van Ginkel has finally found his feet under Filippo Inzaghi.

Van Ginkel only made four senior appearances at Stamford Bridge after joining from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013 for £8million, with an anterior cruciate ligament injury picked up in a Capital One Cup clash against Swindon Town putting a stop to his development.

Reports claim that Marco van Ginkel could remain at AC Milan for another season

He covers a fantastic area of the field defensively and after that he has this instinct where he wants to go into finishing areas, he wants to score goals

However, it is believed that Jose Mourinho still sees a future for the 22-year-old in London, and Calciomercato.com claims that he is willing to let Van Ginkel remain at the San Siro for another campaign in order to boost his progress as a player.

Indeed, the Special One has already likened Van Ginkel to Blues legend Frank Lampard, saying: “He covers a fantastic area of the field defensively and after that he has this instinct where he wants to go into finishing areas, he wants to score goals. He’s very good in the air.”
