Chelsea in 'best position yet' to beat Man City and Arsenal in title race - Jose Mourinho

CHELSEA'S six-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League title race puts them in a better position than when they were eight clear earlier this season.

Jose Mourinho pretty confident Chelsea will win the Premier League title

That is the view of Blues manager Jose Mourinho, who insists his side are in the driving seat to beat City and Arsenal to the championship.

Chelsea have won just two of their last four Premier League games and have seen their lead cut to six points from the eight they had over City in November, when Southampton were riding high in second place.

But four months down the line and with just nine games left for Chelsea to play - including a game in hand over City and third-place Arsenal - Mourinho is adamant it is his title to lose.

"The important thing was that we kept calm and went back to the level of football at the start, playing very well and creating a lot and the goal was more than deserved," Mourinho told Chelsea TV after watching his side beat Hull 3-2 at the weekend.

"Now we are in the best position since the beginning of the season.

"The maximum lead we had was eight points but when we had eight points we were speaking about 20 matches to go.

"Now we have six points with one match in hand and with 24 possible points for our opponents to win."
