Chelsea star Diego Costa heading for ANOTHER club-versus-country row

CHELSEA's Diego Costa is heading for a club-versus-country row over tests on his injured hamstring.

Costa is set to miss Spain's vital Euro 2016 home qualifier against Ukraine on Friday because of the injury sustained in Sunday's game at Hull.

Spain have drafted Malaga forward Juanmi into their squad to take his place.

Chelsea want Costa to stay in England for treatment on the injury.

But that could spark more problems with Spain, who want the striker to go back to join up with their squad for further tests.

In a statement, the Spanish federation said their medical staff will evaluate the results of the tests he has had in London.

But Chelsea expect him to be fit for their next Premier League match against Stoke in 11 days' time.

The controversial Spain striker has though escaped avoided any punishment from the FA for his alleged elbow on Hull¹s Jake Livermore on Sunday.

Referee Michael Oliver missed the incident but the FA's three-man review panel yesterday decided no further action will be taken against either player.

Meanwhile Chelsea skipper John Terry is convinced that the vast experience in the Stamford Bridge dressing room will steer his team though the final nervy weeks of the season to the title.

Chelsea clawed their way to their win at the KC Stadium after throwing away a two goal lead at one point, to maintain their six point lead at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand on rivals Manchester City.

Terry said: "When you set the standard so high, as we have done this season from the word go, then start dropping points at home and go out of the Champions League, it all comes back down to character.

"It's immense in this dressing room, there is an awful lot of experience in there. It will serve the younger lads well."
