LIVERPOOL midfielder Joao Teixeira has revealed Brendan Rodgers' dressing room secrets.

Brendan Rodgers applauds Steven Gerrard apology for his red card

Rodgers, according to the 22-year-old on loan at Brighton, would attempt to rouse the squad before crucial games by reading them letters - from the players' mothers.

The Portuguese youngster was around the squad during the title run-in last term when Liverpool slipped up and allowed Manchester City back into the race.

He told the Sun: "During the title run-in, we had team meetings before the bus left for the stadium.

"He used to read out a letter from each player's mother. Brendan's not a negative guy. He's always positive."
