Di Maria doesn't Mata now! Twitter explodes as Man Utd take the lead against Liverpool

LOUIS VAN GAAL was vindicated for keeping faith with Juan Mata when the Spaniard gave Manchester United a 1-0 lead over Liverpool this afternoon.

Juan Mata gave Manchester United the lead

The Dutch tactician named an unchanged side for the trip to Liverpool meaning Mata kept his place in midfield.

But that saw Angel Di Maria - who was available again after suspension - consigned to the bench.

And Van Gaal was rewarded when Mata latched on to a Ander Herrera through-ball in the 13th minute to give United the lead.

And United fans were delighted with the decision if their reaction on Twitter is anything to go by.
