Man Utd look to avoid £30m EMBARRASSMENT by offering Di Maria in exchange for Cavani
MANCHESTER UNITED will look to avoid taking a £30million hit on Angel Di Maria by landing Edinson Cavani in exchange for the Argentine winger, according to reports.
Di Maria has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford less than 12 months after joining in a £60m deal from Real Madrid.
The player is reportedly unhappy in Manchester, having not really wanted to join the club in the first place.
According to the Daily Mail, Di Maria's value has already halved as a result of his lacklustre form since the turn of the year.

And instead of facing the prospect of taking an embarrassing £30m loss on the player, it is thought that they will try and land Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain in a bid to save face.
Di Maria was linked with PSG last summer only for Financial Fair Play rules to scupper a deal, while Cavani has been linked with a move to the Red Devils with Radamel Falcao unlikely to be retained when his loan deal expires.
Cavani has also been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, while Atletico Madrid admitted their interest in the striker last week.
But United hope that an offer of Di Maria will be enough to swing the deal in their favour.
