Joe Ledley backs Gareth Bale to deliver for Wales in Euro 2016 qualifier

Bale has come in for flak during a turbulent month with the Spanish giants. 

The world’s most expensive player stuck two fingers up at his critics with a two-goal salvo against Levante last week.

All eyes will be on Bale when he links-up with the Wales squad tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s crunch Euro 2016 qualifier in Israel.

But Ledley says Bale will welcome his home comforts and said: “He is a fantastic player as everyone knows.

“But he is also a great professional and great guy. Coming back with us will be good for everyone.

“It’s a pleasure to have him around the camp and he is just one of the boys.

“I know he loves joining up with us and there’s a good bond when we always meet up.

“And you want to be playing with players like him. 

“It gives you a lift but would never know most expensive player in the world. 

“He is down to earth off the pitch and when he is on it he is unbelievable - the best player I have played with.

“He gives us a chance. As a player he never has nothing to prove to us.”

Wales’ unbeaten four-game start has presented them with a golden chance to end a 59-year wait by qualifying for a major tournament.

Israel have a 100 per cent record and top the group but Crystal Palace midfielder Ledley added: “We know we have a tough game now.

“We’ve had a fantastic start and hopefully that can continue. 

“It’s been too long for us to be waiting to qualify.”
