Mourinho: City, Arsenal, Man Utd AND Liverpool are still in the title race with Chelsea

JOSE MOURINHO insists there are still five teams capable of winning the Premier League, despite his Chelsea side leading the table by six points.

The Blues, on 64 points, also boast a game in hand over second-place Manchester City with 10 outings remaining.

Arsenal sit a point further back in third, with United fourth on 56 points and the gap between Chelsea and fifth-place Liverpool now 10.

But despite his side’s strong standing, Mourinho insists Chelsea - who boast just one win in three league games - are not guaranteed the Premier League title.

“I think it’s still five because the distance is still mathematically possible,” he said.

“Obviously fifth place and fourth place, they don’t have to fight against one team but three.

"So normally you would say the first three (are in the race) but the reality is that the distance between two and three, three and four, four and five is so short that I look at them and mathematically I see that things are open."

Mourinho also warned against "complacency" heading into the final quarter of the season.

“The advantage is significant but there is still a long way to go," he said.

“We are there, we are strong, we are confident. We believe in our capacity to stay there until the last match.”
