Pellegrini is expected to lose his job at the end of the season after torrid campaign.

The reigning Premier League champions currently trail leaders Chelsea by six points and have exited the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League.

And De Boer would like to replace the under-fire Chilean, but would only consider the position once his deal at Ajax expires in the summer of 2016.

The Dutchman has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle before.

“Frank would be interested in managing Manchester City in the future,” hid brother told talkSPORT.

“He’s already said he will stay at Ajax until 2016.

“If Manchester City or Barcelona come for him he will still stay [at Ajax].

“After that [2016], he is ready to take on a job like that.”
