The Daily Mail claims that Arsene Wenger will look to strengthen the spine of his team after crashing out of the Champions League to Monaco last night.

It is believed that Chelsea goalkeeper Cech is an option for the Gunners, although his £20million price-tag means that Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno and Genoa's Mattia Perin have also been scouted in recent times.

£30m-rated Schneiderlin is said to be Wenger's preferred choice in midfield, despite Bayer Leverkusen anchorman Lars Bender and Everton's James McCarthy catching the eye of the Arsenal manager.

Paris Saint-Germain's Cavani is apparently on the look-out for a new club, with Louis van Gaal said to be keen on securing his signature, but the Mail understands that the Gunners are also interested in a £35m switch.
