MANCHESTER UNITED legend Bryan Robson insists his former club can leapfrog rivals Manchester City and Arsenal and qualify for the Champions League.

Liverpool v Manchester United - Premier League Preview

United currently sit in fourth place, a point off Arsenal and two away from English champions City in second.

They clash with Liverpool this weekend before hosting City next month and must also face Chelsea and Arsenal before the season is out.

And, off the back of their 3-0 victory over Tottenham last weekend, Robson believes Louis van Gaal's men deserve to get back into the Champions League.

Manchester United beat Tottenham 3-0 last weekend

“Everybody is saying they don’t fancy Man United for the top four because they have to play all the top teams but, hold on a minute, Arsenal and City at home why shouldn’t we beat them at Old Trafford. It is an advantage for us," Robson told the Manchester Evening News.

“The fans and players expect to beat the smaller clubs at home but the big teams you know can always give you a tough game.

"They can do that anywhere in the world but there is no reason why we can’t beat these sides.

“It is up to us and after the Tottenham win why shouldn’t we win these matches?"
