James Milner should consider Juventus ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool - Micah Richards

MICAH RICHARDS says James Milner should consider moving abroad to better himself.

The Manchester City midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to leave the Etihad.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the England midfielder, although Manuel Pellegrini retains hope he can be persuaded to stay.

Reports earlier today suggested that Milner - who is learning Spanish - is keen to head overseas.

And Richards, currently at loan in Serie A with Fiorentina, has endorsed that decision if Milner isn't guaranteed first-team football in England.

He told talkSPORT: “Players should definitely consider moving abroad.

“It all comes down to what club wants you.

“James Milner is up there with the top midfielders in the world. A lot of people say he’s not amazing at one particular thing but he never lets the team down and Man City are a better team when he plays.

“If the likes of Barcelona, Atletico Madird and Real Madrid or Juventus and Roma in Serie A want you, then I don’t see why not.

“Juve have got some of the best players in the world at the moment. Everyone wants to better themselves in their career.

“Milner is someone who is too good to be sitting on the bench. He deserves to be playing in the starting 11 somewhere. That will be one of the key factors in his decision.”
