Andre Schurrle BLAMES Chelsea for slow start at new club Wolfsburg

ANDRE SCHURRLE has hit out at Chelsea's training methods, blaming them for his troubles at new club Wolfsburg.

The German international has looked rusty since his return to the Bundesliga, and is yet to hit the ground running since making the £22million move.

And the 24-year-old cites his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge and the staff's approach to fitness recovery as the problem.

He told German newspaper Bild: "At top English clubs during the season, the players are hardly loaded with any training, since it's almost all about regeneration and tactics.

"In England you can get your fitness through the season with the games.

"I'm still missing the last per cent. In January, I almost had no training between the change of clubs because of back problems."

Schurrle has since been dropped to the bench by his new club, and has struggled to have an impact on games since getting two assists in his debut against Hoffenheim.

He added: "I have not done much in the past few weeks and I realise now that I am stuck in a hole."

And it's a feeling that former Chelsea player Kevin De Bruyne can relate to, but he insists things will improve.

He told Wolfsburger Nachrichten:"I know it is hard for him, it was no different for me so I am not worried."
