Micah Richards puts Arsenal and Liverpool on alert as he eyes Premier League return

MICAH RICHARDS has put Liverpool and Arsenal on alert by admitting he longs for a return to the Premier League.

The Manchester City defender is on loan with Serie A side Fiorentina this season with his contract set to expire in the summer.

Richards accepts that he is unlikely to be offered a new deal at the Etihad with Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna holding down the right-back spot for Manuel Pellegrini.

But he remains optimistic that another Premier League club might offer him regular playing time, despite options to remain in Italy.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with moves for the player in the past, while West Ham and Everton are also thought to be interested in a potential summer move.

He told talkSPORT: “It’s difficult to say [where I will play] at the moment.

“Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, it’s still the best league in the world and the most entertaining.

“But I wouldn’t mind staying in Italy because we’re doing well at the moment.

“I’ve been linked with Inter Milan with my old manager Roberto Mancini, so I have a few options.

“I just want to go somewhere where I’m going to play the most.

“Every footballer can go to a bigger club on a free contract but for me, I’m still only 26 and I just want to play every game, that’s what’s important.”
