Only PSG can afford £59.7m Angel Di Maria fee with Louis van Gaal open to sale

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are the only club who can afford Manchester United's Angel Di Maria in the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Di Maria has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League this term, with recent reports linking the 27-year-old winger with a move away after just one season at Old Trafford.

The Argentine is understood to be unsettled in England after an attempted burglary on his home in January, and Louis van Gaal insists he won't stand in his way should he request a transfer.

And Spanish news outlet Fichajes claims United won't sell for anything below £59.7m - the price they paid for him over the summer from Real Madrid - and suggest only PSG can afford his services.

The Ligue 1 giants failed to land the winger before his eventual move to the Red Devils.

I shall always be open (to his sale)

Louis van Gaal

When asked if he would let Di Maria leave on compassionate grounds, Van Gaal said: "I am always like that. When you see my history, that's part of my philosophy.

"A player is not just a man who kicks the ball from A to B. His environment is influencing him.

"I shall always be open (to his sale) but I know that the commercial interests of the club and we have to respect that.

"You cannot give a lot of money for a player and next season put him out of your selection."
