Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool on red alert for unhappy Real Madrid star

MANCHESTER UNITED, Arsenal and Liverpool have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao, according to reports.

Ancelotti understands criticism comes with the territory

Spanish media claims that the left-back is unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu due to a lack of first-team action.

Marcelo is Carlo Ancelotti's preferred choice in defence, and Coentrao has made just seven La Liga appearances this season.

Fabio Coentrao is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid

United, Arsenal and Liverpool have previously been linked with £20million bids for the Portugal star, and a summer move could be on the cards as Real have reportedly lined up a replacement already.

German outlets believe that Ancelotti wants to land Bayern Munich's David Alaba, whose versatility would give Real cover in both defence and midfield.

The Austria international is tied down to the Allianz Arena until 2018, but Real are apparently lining up a £25m bid at the end of the season.
