Francis Coquelin talks Arsenal's most impressive player and why he doesn't need to attack

FRANCIS COQUELIN says that Santi Cazorla edges out Laurent Koscielny as the player who has most impressed him at Arsenal.

Santi Cazorla Player Profile

The youngster has broken into the Gunners first-team after returning from a loan spell at Charlton earlier in the season.

And he has been blown away by Cazorla's outstanding technique.

He told French paper Ouest France: “At Arsenal, Cazorla. On a technical level, he is above and beyond.

"He has been here for three years, and I still don’t know if he is right-footed or left-footed…

"Laurent Koscielny is not as well-renowned in France as he should be.”

Indeed, such is the wealth of attacking talent at Arsene Wenger's disposal, Coquelin believes his role in the side is quite straight-forward.

He added: “To win the ball back, to play the ball forward quickly…

"I am difficult to muscle off, even if I am not huge. I didn’t fare too badly against Fellaini against Manchester United.

"After that, I am not really needed in an attacking sense.

"When you have Sanchez, Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck in front of you… I am here to take a weight off the load on those guys there.”
