Joe Allen says Liverpool deserved to beat Swansea in the end

The Reds won through Jordan Henderson's deflected goal having weathered a Swansea storm in the first half.

But Allen, against his old club, believes Brendan Rodgers' change of tactics second half helped Liverpool claim three important points.

Liverpool move up to fifth just two points below Manchester United before the crunch game between the two at Anfield on Sunday.

"It was extremely hard, especially first half," Allen said.

"Swansea were on top, they mad us work very hard. We got it right in the second half and thankfully got the three points.

"It was disappointing to be honest with the run we have been on.

"Thankfully we went in level but came back out with maybe a better attitude.

"We matched them up with a diamond in the second half, changed our tactics and got it right."
