The Belgian was called into action again following a strike from Gylfi Sigurdsson, and the two sides went in level at the break.

Philippe Coutinho saw his effort blocked by Lukasz Fabianski in the 58th minute, before Henderson's deflected shot looped the Poland international to give Brendan Rodgers' men the lead 10 minutes later.

Sturridge then struck the post with moments remaining, but Liverpool held on to secure the victory and go within two and three points of United and Arsenal respectively, setting up a mouth-watering finale in the race for a top four finish.
