Adebayor has endured a torrid season which has involved poor performances and a spell of compassionate leave.
However, Spurs have not missed the Togo international too much, thanks mainly to the form of Kane, who has scored 26 goals in his breakthrough year with the first-team.
And Adebayor thinks 21-year-old Kane is the sole person who can help the team bridge the six-point gap that now separates Spurs and fourth-placed Manchester United.
Liverpool and Southampton are also in contention for the last Champions League qualification spot.

"It's quite hard sitting on the sidelines but I'm very happy and pleased for Harry Kane, who has been doing fantastic," said the striker, who has scored two goals in 16 appearances.
"I think he is the only one that can save our season, like I did the last season. Two years ago, it was Gareth Bale.
"If he keeps scoring two goals every weekend, he can save us.
"We all have a huge faith and believe in him. Hopefully, he will drag us out of the top seven and put us in the top four."
