Bale joined Real from Spurs for a world record fee of £85.3million in 2013, and it is thought he could make a sensational return to the Premier League.
The Daily Mirror claim Bale is ready to ride out the storm at the Bernabeu, but will consider a move to England's top flight should a suitable offer be forthcoming.
They suggest he has always been open to joining United, and that he would be tempted should they make a play for him.

Real president Florentino Perez revealed last week it's not just United who are chasing Bale, as he said: "Gareth Bale is one of the best players in the world.
"The biggest clubs fought and continue to fight to secure his services.
"The only thing I can say is that we shouldn't forget what he was able to achieve in his first year at Real Madrid."
