Louis van Gaal: Angel Di Maria CAN leave Man Utd next summer

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Louis van Gaal admits he would be open to the sale of Angel Di Maria in the summer should he wish to leave.

Di Maria has failed to live up to his £59.7m price tag this term, with recent reports linking the 27-year-old winger with a move away after just one season at Old Trafford.

The Argentine is understood to be unsettled in England after an attempted burglary on his home in January, and Van Gaal insists he won't stand in his way should he request a transfer.

When asked if he would let Di Maria leave on compassionate grounds, Van Gaal said: "I am always like that. When you see my history, that's part of my philosophy.
