Leicester 0 - Hull 0: Foxes fail to capitalise on Huddlestone's dismissal to stay bottom

THAT pulsating win against Manchester United must seem an awfully long time ago for Leicester City.

Tom Huddlestone was sent off in the second-half

But it looks like it will be a cruel but lasting memory of Leicester’s brief stay in the Premier League.

Even though Hull had to play for nearly 20 minutes with only 10 men after Tom Huddlestone’s sending off, the Foxes still couldn’t end their dismal seven-game winless run.

It could have been even worse had Nikica Jelavic not contrived to miss one of the chances of the season.

Huddlestone cut out the entire Leicester back three to find Ahmed Elmohamady clear on the right and even though the Egyptian winger had the chance to get away a shot he looked for the unmarked striker.

Jelavic only needed a firm touch but stumbled over his own feet – with Match of the Day host Gary Lineker tweeting: “One of the best misses you’re ever likely to see by Jelavic.”

Hull boss Steve Bruce said: "Jelavic has won so many games since he’s been here but it was one of those awful ones he’s beating himself up on.”

Jelavic thought he’d made up for his aberration when he did get the ball in the net.

He slammed home after Mark Schwarzer had dropped a cross but his celebrations were quickly cut short when referee Jon Moss gave a foul against Dame N’Doye.

The second half was a bit tasty with the tackles fl ying with Michael Dawson and Alex Bruce both diving in– before Huddlestone was given his marching orders.

City manager Nigel Pearson, who has overseen only one home win since the 5-3 thriller against United way back in September, admitted: “We have six home games left and our home form has to be drastically improved to give us a chance.”
