Crystal Palace 3 - QPR 1: Eagles soar with comfortable win over dismal Rangers

WILFRIED ZAHA was the Crystal Palace hero as he once again showed Manchester United what they are missing.

The winger United signed for big money, didn’t want and shunted out is ensuring Palace stay in the Premier League.

On the other Palace flank, Yannick Bolasie is no slouch either, as both combined to surely speed QPR’s relegation.

Boss Alan Pardew said: “They are exciting, a throwback to previous great Palace wingers.”

It would hard to find a better wing pair in the Premier League at the moment than Bolasie and Zaha.

They have pace, they tease and Zaha is a box of tricks and also a brave soul, as shown when he went for Bolasie’s 21st-minute cross to put Palace into the lead.

He dived in and scored knowing he would also bounce off of post, leaving him limping before being substituted in the second half to a thunderous reception.

Zaha’s breakthrough sparked two more Palace goals within a minute in the first half.

James McArthur scored their second in the 41st minute from another Bolasie cross and then James Ward grabbed his first ever Palace goal following a piece of Zaha magic.

The second half should have been showtime for Palace but they eased off and a pot-luck Matt Phillips goal from 40 yards was scant consolation for Rangers.

Chris Ramsey, their acting manager, said: “We were very disappointing in the first half and couldn’t stop the flow. We are in the position we are because of these key moments.

“The only way we can stop this situation is go back to the drawing board, but we need to do better than we did today.”
