The Spaniard has started Arsenal's last nine games but is replaced by Wales international Ramsay, while Theo Walcott starts in place of the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has also been given a subs role, with David Ospina back between the sticks.

Manager Arsene Wenger makes five changes from the side that beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup last Monday, with Calum Chambers replacing Hector Bellerin at right-back.

Ramsay drops deep in midfield and Walcott moves out wide, while Olivier Giroud starts ahead of Danny Welbeck up front.

As for West Ham, manager Sam Allarcyde makes four changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Chelsea.

Joey O'Brien and James Collins return to the defence, with Cheikhou Kouyate playing centre-half.

Former Arsenal player Alex Song returns to defensive midfield, with Matt Jarvis also back in the XI for Enner Valencia.
