Lee McCulloch wants to see Rangers back in the Scottish top flight

The Light Blues’ confidence has been shattered by a Championship campaign that sees them 22 points behind Hearts and trailing second-top Hibs by five points.

But 36-year-old Gers skipper McCulloch has demanded his team-mates show greater confidence as the race to snatch second spot from Hibs heats up.

New boss Stuart McCall takes charge of his first match against Livingston at Ibrox today.

McCulloch said: “It’s time for everybody to stand up and be men. They must demand the ball, not hide, and show they’re good enough to be here.

“Sometimes, when your confidence is low, you don’t want the ball as much as you do when your confidence is high. That’s basically all I am saying.”

Meanwhile, Chris Graham has resigned as a non-executive director, just three days after being appointed.

He quit following claims he posted an offensive tweet of a sexually explicit cartoon of the prophet Mohammed.

An SFA disciplinary hearing into Mike Ashley’s Ibrox involvement, originally scheduled for Monday, has been postponed until April 16.
