The Champions League winner linked up with Ronald Koeman's side on a loan deal at the start of the season before making it permanent in January.

Jose Mourinho could not find room for Bertrand in his star-studded squad after splashing the cash on Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis, and was evidently unmoved by the Englishman's impressive first six months at St Mary's.

But although Bertrand concedes that it will be an emotional return to west London, the left-back is adamant that he remains fully focused on securing a win for the Saints.

Going back will have some impact, definitely, but as soon as the whistle blows it will all be about doing my job

He told the club's official website: "It will be nice to go back and see a few faces, but other than that it will be business as usual. I want to go there and play well.

"Going back will have some impact, definitely, but as soon as the whistle blows it will all be about doing my job.

"Chelsea are still chasing a fantastic trophy and they will want to make amends for the poor result in midweek. It should be a good game."
