Chris Ramsey says he fears bigger cubs may try and poach Charlie Austin

Austin, 25, has established himself as one of the Premier League's top strikers with 15 goals in 25 league games during his first season in the top-flight.

That has put the forward on the radar to the division's top clubs and attracted the attention of England manager Roy Hodgson.

Ramsey said: "When somebody sparkles at bigger or smaller clubs there's always going to be people in there to poach them or to buy them and make their clubs better.

"So we would be foolish not to be worried we're going to lose him. We hope we don't and we're glad he has performed in a way that other teams are trying to secure his services.

He's one of the top strikers, it's not my decision whether he stays or goes

"He's one of the top strikers, it's not my decision whether he stays or goes, but any top striker always goes for top dollar."

QPR visit Crystal Palace today with manager Alan Pardew calling for more black coaches to be brought into the Premier League.

Pardew said: "Every opportunity should be taken to increase the numbers of black coaches and more would be great for the Premier League.

'I am certainly hoping to bring more into my staff at this club because black coaches just need to be given more chances."

Palace have not won a home game since November and Pardew added: "Our stadium needs to be rocking. We have done enough on our travels, so now we have to pick up points at Selhurst Park."
