TEAM NEWS: Defender doubt for Man Utd clash with full-strength Spurs and Young keeps place

ASHLEY YOUNG has been passed fit to play for Manchester United against Tottenham this weekend after suffering a leg injury on Monday.

Young lasted a full 90 minutes in United's 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford but was a doubt for this weekend.

However, manager Louis van Gaal will have the 29-year-old in the squad, alongside defender Marcos Rojo, who will travel with the team but may not play.

Rojo is a doubt for the game due to a groin problem but with United looking thin in defence - a situation worsened by Jonny Evans' suspension - Rojo could earn a place on the bench as emergency cover.

Angel Di Maria is also suspended for the game after picking up two yellow cards in the space of a minute against Arsenal.

Spurs, meanwhile, will take a full-strength squad to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Younes Kaboul and Etienne Capoue will all seek to earn game time, while in-form striker Harry Kane is set to start up front.

Man Utd provisional squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Valdes, Shaw, Blackett, Rojo, Smalling, Jones, McNair, Rafael, Pereira, Young, Blind, Fellaini, Herrera, Valencia, Januzaj, Mata, Falcao, Rooney, Wilson.

Tottenham provisional squad: Lloris, Vorm, Friedel, Walker, Rose, Davies, Chiriches, Kaboul, Fazio, Dier, Vertonghen, Bentaleb, Mason, Capoue, Paulinho, Stambouli, Dembele, Lamela, Townsend, Eriksen, Chadli, Soldado, Adebayor, Kane.
