Jose Mourinho will reportedly be given a £75million transfer budget this summer.

And The Sun claim Abramovich will release funds for Mourinho to sign three new players for next season - with a defender, midfielder and striker targeted.

Mourinho is believed to have made Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane his top target.

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are plotting a move for the £30m-rated Frenchman.

The report claims interest in Varane raises question marks about Gary Cahill's long-term future.

Shakhtar Donetsk forward Douglas Costa remains keen on joining Chelsea.

The Blues made an approach for Costa in January but signed £26.8m Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina instead.

But the Brazilian is holding out for renewed interest from Mourinho.
