Roberto Martinez's Everton play Kiev tonight in the Europa League last-16

Martinez's men are playing Kiev at Goodison Park tonight in the first leg of their last-16 clash.

They have already played eight games in Europe this season, winning five of those, including a 7-2 aggregate score over Young Boys in the previous round.

And Martinez insists there is value to playing in the Europa League and is well aware the prize of Champions League qualification befalls the winner of the competition.

"It's been an incredible experience for us as a football club to travel different countries and and show what we are as a club and a team," he told ITV before kick off.

"It's bringing memories back of all those journeys we had in the past in Europe.

"I think the last 16 teams left, the level is fantastic. There's huge quality in those sides.

"The big aspect of Dyanmo Kiev is the winning mentality they have. When you are ahead of teams like Shakhtar in the league, it shows what they have.

"It's a very, very strong unit that carries that winning mentality and it's going to be a big test today."
