Inter look set to let Lukas Podolski return to Arsenal this summer

That is the thought of Germany World Cup winner Lothar Matthaus, who believes Inter bosses have already made up their mind over the player's future.

Podolski moved to the San Siro this January after falling out of favour at Arsenal, agreeing a six-month loan deal with the club.

But he has failed to impress in the Serie A, having not scored in any of his nine outings.

And Matthaus, who played for Inter between 1988 and 1992, believes Arsenal will be stuck with Podolski once again come June.

“Inter are not totally satisfied with Lukas’ performances,” Matthaus told German newspaper Bild.

“I’d have hoped he’d do better.

“At the end of the season I think he’ll have to pack up and leave Inter this summer, unless something changes dramatically.”
