The goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks, with Brendan Rodgers still looking for competition for Simon Mignolet.

The 22-year-old came through the youth ranks at Atalanta before claiming the number one jersey this season.

Reports last week claimed that Sportiello's impressive form had seen him make his way onto Liverpool's radar.

But the player insists he is not thinking about a move to Merseyside having only signed a new contract recently.

He told Eco di Bergamo: “Liverpool are definitely a great club.

“We’re talking about one of the top clubs in the world.

"That said, I’m happy to be here, this is my first year as a starter and I’ve signed a new contract with Atalanta.

“My life has changed in a few months.”
