Sam Allardyce: West Ham must replicate Chelsea performance to beat Arsenal

WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce has urged his players to replicate their performance against Chelsea when they travel to Arsenal on Saturday (3pm).

Arsenal v West Ham - Premier League Preview

West Ham hosted the Premier League leaders last week and put in a resilient performance, but Eden Hazard’s first-half strike extended the Hammers’ run of no wins in six.

But Allardyce is hoping for the same display from his players against the Gunners, and believes the only difference against Jose Mourinho’s side was a goal that should have been ruled offside.

“For us, it’s trying to repeat the performance we gave against Chelsea - I think we need that level,” Allardyce said.

“I watched Arsenal play Manchester United in the cup with a thrilling encounter - I watched how well they played.

“We know the quality of player they’ve got, we know how difficult it is at the Emirates.

“We’ll go and give it our best shot, like I said I hope the lads can play to the level they played against Chelsea.

“Having said that, as I said before the Chelsea match, we may play our very best but not get anything. And we didn’t.

“Mind you, that was more down to the assistant referee than it was down to us sadly on the day. But we’ll try and repeat that performance and see if that’s enough to get us a result.”
