Chelsea's Champions League shock opens door for Premier League title rivals - Mark Bosnich

MARK BOSNICH says Chelsea's Champions League elimination could open the door for Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool to mount a Premier League title challenge.

Chelsea v Southampton - Premier League Preview

The former Blues stopper says it is vital that Jose Mourinho's side bounce back in their next league game - against Southampton on Sunday - or risk having their entire season derailed.

Chelsea went out of Europe in devastating fashion last night, losing to PSG on away goals in extra time at Stamford Bridge.

And Bosnich believes that the defeat could cause a loss of momentum that could be difficult to recover from if Chelsea lose again at the weekend.

Jose Mourinho will want to bounce back against Southampton

It is a very fine line between success and failure.

He told talkSPORT: “When you suffer such a disappointment, in whatever competition, it is so important to bounce back in your next game.

“It is a very fine line between success and failure.

"There will be a few players feeling sore and mentally a bit tired because they went out to PSG so they have to go out and make a statement to the fans and to the Premier League.”
