WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce has revealed Enner Valencia has picked up a ‘freak injury’ and is unlikely to feature against Arsenal on Saturday (3pm).

The news comes at an unfortunate time for the Hammers, with fellow forwards Carlton Cole and Andy Carroll also out of action.

Allardyce may now be forced to hand new boy Nene his full West Ham debut at the Emirates as the Colombian's replacement.

On any fresh injuries for the Gunners clash, Allardyce said: “There is one, but it’s not really an injury in terms of an accident, which is Enner Valencia.

Enner Valencia won't face Arsenal on Saturday

It may be too soon for him to be considered for this game

Sam Allardyce

“He had an accident at home and has cut his big toe quite severely on a broken cup. So that has been stitched.

“We’re not exactly certain, but we think it may be too soon for him to be considered for this game.

“A freak accident at home we didn’t expect, but these are the sort of things that seem to happen, and of course with it being one of our few strikers available it’s a big blow.”
