Chelsea Transfer News: Azpilicueta exit, Fabregas revelation, Messi approach

CHELSEA have reportedly turned down a bid from Paris Saint-Germain for Cesar Azpilicueta.

The defender is an integral part of Jose Mourinho's side, but it has been claimed that PSG tabled an £8.5million offer before the two clubs clashed in their Champions League thriller at Stamford Bridge.

Considering the apparent bid is just £1.5m more than the Blues paid for Azpilicueta from Marseille in 2012, it seems unlikely that Chelsea would sell the left-back for such a low fee.

Mourinho has revealed that he did not expect to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona last summer.

The midfield maestro made the return to London for around £30m, and has been in inspirational form.

Cesar Azpilicueta is a reported target for PSG

Former side Arsenal had the option to secure Fabregas' signature, but Wenger's refusal to re-sign the playmaker allowed Mourinho to swoop instead.

In other news, the Daily Star report that Fabregas has denied trying to lure Barca star Lionel Messi to the Premier League.

The duo were spotted on a night out when the Catalan side took on Manchester City at the Etihad.

But Fabregas is adamant that there was nothing behind the meet-up.
