Danilo will reportedly be a Real Madrid player at the end of the season

Goal.com claims that Carlo Ancelotti has agreed a £17.6m deal for the Porto right-back, who could replace Alvaro Arbeloa at the end of the season.

Danilo is now on the verge of signing a lucrative five-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu, and will go up against Dani Carvajal for a spot in the first XI.

Barcelona were believed to have been confident of landing the Brazilian defender, with veteran Dani Alves set to leave on a free transfer this summer, but the Catalan club will now be forced to look elsewhere.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal was also believed to be keeping tabs on Danilo, with the Dutchman unsure over the quality of current full-backs Rafael and Antonio Valencia.

But any hopes of signing the 23-year-old appear to be over, with former Barcelona midfielder Carles Rexach also claiming that Danilo is now a Los Blancos player.

Speaking to Esport 3, he explained: "I have been told that Danilo has been signed by Real."
