JUVENTUS are already preparing for life without Paul Pogba as they line up a contract offer for Manchester United target Nigel de Jong.

Nigel de Jong is reportedly wanted by Juventus and Manchester United

De Jong is ready to sever ties with current club Milan and is happy to see his contract expire at the Serie A giants this summer.

He will then be able to move clubs on a free transfer, with United a reported suitor of the 30-year-old.

United manager Louis van Gaal has already revealed his intention to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window and De Jong is a cheap option on his list.

But calcionews24.com now claim Juve are considering to hijack any move for the former Manchester City player.

If all goes to plan, the club are likely to offload Pogba in the summer for somewhere around the £88million price they are demanding Real Madrid, City and Chelsea pay.

And with the resources gained from Pogba's sale the Turin club will be able to offer De Jong a salary that competes with United's huge wage structure.

And, although United appear to have the advantage in that De Jong played under Van Gaal in the Netherlands international set-up, he also enjoyed a fruitful spell with Massimiliano Allegri when the Juve boss was in charge at Milan.
