The FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United on Monday was the Gunners' 11th win in their last 13 matches and Spanish defender Monreal says it has set them up to finish the season on a high.

They will attempt to consolidate their top-four place in the Premier League against West Ham on Saturday, before travelling to Monaco where they will start 3-1 down from the first leg.

Spanish defender Monreal, whose goal on Monday was only his second for the Gunners and his first in the FA Cup, said: "We are in a good dynamic in the last few games.

"Except for the first leg Monaco when we didn't play really well, in the rest of the games we have played well and won most of them. This is the style now to keep going."

Skipper Per Mertesacker said the Gunners' matchwinner Danny Welbeck had to set aside his emotional attachment to his former club.

"Danny was a great player at United and he was a bit quiet in the dressing room," he said.

"I think it hurts him a bit as well as he was there for a long time.

"We tried to get him going and to tell him he can enjoy special moments with Arsenal."
