The 22-year-old midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly showing an interest.

The trio were expected to renew their interest at the end of the season, with PSG understood to be open to offers in the region of £40m.

However, the Italy international has responded to the interest by claiming he wants to remain in the French capital for 'many years' to come.

"I’m saying this not to please fans, or journalists, I’m saying it because it’s true: I love Paris," Verratti said.

"Staying here for many years is my main goal.

"There’s no reason to go anywhere else, this is a team which becomes stronger every year, with many great players.

“I’m very happy at Paris Saint-Germain, and I don’t want to leave."
